Why should I Add a Payee?

To enhance the security of all your transactions done on Citibank Online and to ensure that except you and no one else can authorise/transfer funds online from your Citibank account to any other account, Citibank has introduced the Online Authorisation Code.

Before making payments online to any payee you need to register the payee by adding him/her into your payee list.

After you add the payee to your list, an Online Authorisation Code (OAC) will be issued and sent to you via email/SMS/IVR.

You need to authorise the payee using the OAC and then transfer the desired amount to this payee. You can save this payee for future transfers also. At that time, no new OAC is required.
